A BOOK RECOMMENDATION FOR YOU from Retired Bishop +Rene Henry Gracida | WHAT IS GARABANDAL?
If you are like me you probably have
no difficulty accepting the supernatural character of the
apparitions and other phenomena associated with the events of Fatima of
1917 since they have received the ‘nihil obstat’ and the approval of the
Holy See. Also, like me you are probably troubled by the
controversies surrounding all other such events and private revelations
that have occurred since Fatima.
The failure of the Holy See to disclose the findings of the
commissions that have investigated Medjugorje and to either condemn or
approve it make acceptance by Catholics around the world difficult and,
conversely, the events of Garabandal assume increasing importance in view of the present growing crisis in the Church.
Edward Kelly’s book, A Journey of Happiness and Hope is not the usual compilation
of reporting on the Church’s treatment of the apparitions and
revelations, but is instead an autobiographical record of how his life
was changed after he stumbled upon the village of Garabandal as a
tourist in Spain in the 1960″s. But his book is not simply
autobiographical because it gives the reader insight into the lives of
the visionaries, their families and the other residents of the small
village of Garabandal. In addition, he does provide a record of the way
the Church, both local and Rome have dealt with the supernatural
element of the events of Garabandal.
A Journey of Happiness and Hope is eminently readable. I
could not put it down once I started reading it and the fact that Saints
Padre Pio and Mother Theresa of Calcutta were such strong supporters of
the visionaries of Garabandal came as a welcome surprise to me in view
of the reprehensible way in which the bishops of Santander have
mishandled Garabandal from the beginning.
The book is available from Amazon and costs only $15.00. I highly recommend it.

Garabandal cannot be reduced to simple "events of the past"; it remains mysteriously contemporary as we await the fulfillment of the "Warning", "Miracle", & "Great Sign." "Therefore, judge not before the time: until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall every man have praise from God." (I Cor. 4:5)

THE WARNING: ILLUMINATION OF ALL CONSCIENCES
Tribulation Times
October 24, 2017
(Luk 12:2-3) For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed: nor hidden that shall not be known. For whatsoever things you have spoken in darkness shall be published in the light: and that which you have spoken in the ear in the chambers shall be preached on the housetops.

From as far back as the 16th century, when St. Edmund Campion of England spoke of “a great day that would reveal all men’s consciences,” a coming “day of enlightenment” has been foretold. It is purported to be a day in which God will supernaturally illuminate the conscience of every man, woman, and child on earth. Each person, then, would momentarily see the state of their soul through God’s eyes and realize the truth of His existence. This predicted event is now said to be imminent, as talk concerning the certainty of this miracle has intensified. This book is a comprehensive and authoritative guide on this coming event, using Scripture and testimony from the Saints and Visionaries to explain this coming miracle of God’s Mercy. ‘It will be an act of God...an act of His Mercy. Whether the world will avoid annihilation of several entire nations, will depend on how each of us reacts to this act of His Mercy. At a time when the world has lost its sense of sin, we will suddenly see ourselves as God sees us. We will recognize our sins.- Fr. Philip Bebie, CP Thomas W. Petrisko

A MOMENT WITH MARY: Satan fears the Rosary
In his book The Last Exorcist—composed of texts from various blogs, Father Amorth reports an entire dialogue he had, in his role as exorcist, with the devil.
Father Amorth: “What are the virtues of the Madonna that make you angriest?”
Demon: “She makes me angry because she is the humblest of all creatures, and because I am the proudest; because she is the purest of all creatures, and I am not; because, of all creatures, she is the most obedient to God, and I am a rebel!”
Father Amorth: “Tell me the fourth characteristic of the Madonna that makes you so afraid of her that you are more afraid when I say the Madonna’s name than when I say the name of Jesus Christ!”
Demon: “I am more afraid when you say the Madonna’s name, because I am more humiliated by being beaten by a simple creature, than by Him…”
Father Amorth: “Tell me the fourth characteristic of the Madonna that makes you most angry!”
Demon: “Because she always defeats me, because she was never compromised by any taint of sin!”
“During an exorcism,” Father Amorth remembers, “Satan told me, through the possessed person, ‘Every Hail Mary of the Rosary is a blow to the head for me; if Christians knew the power of the Rosary, it would be the end of me!'”

UPDATE ON THE GARABANDAL SHRINE BEING BUILT
Message from
Thomas Fahy
website: comingofthekingdom.org
Last year, we had a fund raising drive to pay for a grotto at the House of Sanctification in Garabandal, a Statue of Our Lady
of Garabandal holding the infant Jesus, and the stone surround to protect the statue in the Grotto.
I was waiting for everything to be completed in the Grotto with the statue, but work came to a standstill last March, at least
for a while. However, the stone surround did get installed, but still needs some work. The statue is in storage, which arrived
in Garabandal on November 18, 2016.
I am also including an as an attachment a picture of the stone Surround.

{Trib Times} Garabandal article
The
most important apparition of the 20th century approved by the Catholic
Church is Fatima. It was reported that during Our Lady’s farewell to
Sister Lucy at Fatima in 1917, the Blessed Virgin used these words,
“Goodbye till San Sebastian of Spain.” Since that time, over 300
apparitions have been reported to the Vatican.
One
of the most significant of these apparitions took place at San
Sebastian de Garabandal, Spain from 1961 to 1965. Although there has
been considerable confusion about these alleged apparitions, it would be
well to point out, that the Church has never condemned them. A new
commission was formed by the Bishop in 1986, and Garabandal is currently
under ecclesiastical investigation by the Catholic Church.
The
message of Garabandal contains prophecies of supernatural events that
affect the entire world. Since we might be very near to these predicted
events, it would be prudent for the faithful to be aware of Our Lady’s
messages, especially if the Church declares the appari- tions worthy of
belief.
There has been
much speculation that the third secret of Fatima, which was to have been
revealed in 1960, warns of a great apostasy within the Church. If this
is true, then one of the most significant messages of Garabandal given
on June 18, 1965, would seem to be a confirmation of the third secret.
Part of this message tell us:
“…Many
cardinals, many Bishops and many Priests are on the road to perdition
and are taking many souls with them. Less and less importance is being
given to the Eucharist.”
One does not have to look too far to see that these prophetic words of Our Lady are now being fulfilled in our time.
What Was Our Lady Trying to Tell Us at Garabandal 40 Years Ago?
The
prophecies of Garabandal tell us that four of the greatest supernatural
events in the history of mankind are about to take place:
1. A World Wide Warning
It will come from God and it will be experienced by everyone in the world.
2. A Great Miracle
God will perform the greatest miracle of all time.
3. A Permanent Sign
After
the Great Miracle, a Sign….something that has never been seen before
upon the earth will remain forever (para siempre) in the “Pines” of
Garabandal.
4. The Chastisement
A punishment that is conditional upon the response of mankind to these messages.
When Will These Events Occur?
Mari-Loli,
one of the visionaries, knows the year of the Warning. She said that
the Warning will occur within one year before the miracle. Conchita, the
oldest visionary, knows when the miracle will occur. Our Lady told her
that she must announce the date eight days before the miracle is to
occur. The Warning must take place during Conchita’s lifetime.
The Village
Our
story of Garabandal began on the evening of June 18, 1961 when the
Archangel Michael appeared to four young girls. The Archangel made eight
silent appearances during the following twelve days. On July 1, the
angel finally spoke to announce that on the following day, the Blessed
Virgin Mary would appear to them as Our Lady of Carmel.
San
Sebastian de Garabandal is a tiny village of about 300 people located
in the beautiful Cantabrian mountains of northwestern Spain, in the
Diocese of Santander. Just about a mile to the north on a high ridge,
nine pine trees tower over the village, marking the spot where Our Lady
frequently appeared to the visionaries. During the next four years, Our
Lady appeared more than 2,000 times throughout this remote village.
The Visionaries
The
visionaries were: Conchita Gonzalez age 12, Jacinta Gonzalez age 12,
Mary Cruz Gonzalez age 11 (not closely related) and Mari-Loli Mazon age
12. They described Our Lady as a beautiful young woman, 18 years of age.
She wore a white dress with a blue mantle and a brown Scapular on her
right arm. On her head she wore a crown of 12 stars. Her hair was deep
brown and parted in the center. Her face was oval shaped with a fine
nose. The girls said, “No other woman looks like her or sounds like
her.”
During
the apparitions, the girls went into ecstasies that lasted from a few
minutes to several hours. They would not always experience the
apparition together. Sometimes, Our Lady would appear to only one girl.
At other times two or three girls would share the same vision.
The
apparitions were preceded by three interior calls, which the girls
described as joys, each one becoming stronger. After the third call, the
girls would come running from different parts of the village and would
arrive at the same time in the place designated by Our Lady and they
would fall to their knees in ecstasy.
During
the apparition they were subjected to burns, spotlights in their eyes
and stuck with pins without showing any physical response to pain.
Reports indicate, four adult men had difficulty lifting one 12 year old
girl. Yet, the girls could lift each other easily to kiss Our Lady
goodbye when the apparitions ended.
The
apparitions were accompanied by many other phenomenon that seemed to
defy natural law; such as ecstatic falls and running forward and
backward over very rocky terrain. Many religious objects were kissed by
Our Lady. The visionaries, while in ecstasy, would return the objects to
their rightful owners even though they were unknown to them. The seers
claimed that Our Lady guided them to the right person.
Our Lady promised:
“Through
the kiss I have bestowed on these objects, my Son will perform
miracles, wonders, and prodigies before and after the Great Miracle.”
The
fulfillment of this promise has been realized by the many conversions
and cures of the terminally ill and addicted persons from around the
world.
The Messages of Garabandal
On
July 4, 1961, Our Lady revealed her first message for the world. Our
Lady told the girls to publicly announce the message on October 18,
1961. On this day, the children made known the following message:
“Many
sacrifices must be made. Much penance must be done, We must pay many
visits to the Blessed Sacrament…but first of all we must be very good…If
we do not do this, punishment awaits us…already the cup is filling, and
if we do not change we shall be punished.”
On
January 1, 1965, the Blessed Virgin told Conchita that the Archangel
Michael would appear to her on the following June 18th, to deliver a
final message in Mary’s name for the entire world, because her first
message was not heeded.
On
June 18, 1965, Conchita left her home at 11:30PM and walked to place
called the “Cuadro” (a wooden enclosure). The ecstasy lasted about 12
minutes, and was filmed by cameramen from the Spanish Television network
and Italian Television.
At
the “Cuadro,” Saint Michael appeared to her while she was in ecstasy,
which lasted approximately sixteen minutes. He delivered the following
promised final message of Our Lady for the entire world:
“Since
my message of October 18 has not been complied with and has not been
made known to the world, I will tell you that this is the last one.
Before, the chalice was filling, now it is overflowing. Many Cardinals,
many Bishops and many Priests are on the path of perdition and they take
many souls with them. To the Eucharist, there is given less and less
importance. We should avoid the wrath of God on us by our good efforts.”
“If
you ask Pardon with your sincere soul, He will pardon you. It is I your
mother, who through the intercession of Saint Michael, wish to say that
you amend, that you are already in the last warnings and that I love
you much and do not want your condemnation. Ask us sincerely and we will
give to you. You should sacrifice more. Think of the Passion of Jesus.”
Our
Lady appeared wearing the brown scapular, an indication that we should
also wear the brown scapular, and taught the children how to pray the
rosary. Her greatest emphasis was placed on the Eucharist and prayers
for priests. The last apparition for Conchita was on November 13, 1965,
at “the Pines.”
Our Lady told her,“This is the last time you will see me here.”
Locutions
continued for Conchita and Mari-Loli until Febraury 13, 1966. Locutions
are supernatural interior communications. They can be imagined, heard
through the ear or directly perceived by the intellect.
FROM THE MAILBAG:
Here is a google English translation of a response received to the recent Garabandal post from a holy priest:
Dr. Zambrano,
I
tell you that in 2000 I had the joy of going to Garabandal, Fatima,
Lourdes and Medjugorje ... all wonderful, but like Garabandal none! In
my group there was a Lockheed L1011 plane with almost 400 people, half
of us religious and religious, priests, deacons, bishops and
archbishops. We all experienced wonderful things, including the miracle
of the pulsating sun that sent light flashes upon us as we led the group
in a prayer of deliverance and healing ... the bishops fell to the
ground in the Spirit and began to praise and prophesy in the Lord . With
it, a fine drizzle began over the entire region, from the site of the
pines (where we were to the chapel of this village.) A double rainbow
suddenly appeared (similar to the McDonald's logo). The rainbow began in
the pines where we were to the chapel of Santiago (place where the
hosts are stored that disappeared when St. Michael the Archangel gave
communion to the visionaries) and from there to the Cemetery where the
priest is buried that upon seeing the miracle and publicly declaring it,
died .
As I tell you, my life was transformed by that Garabandal experience.
Original Spanish text:
Dr. Zambrano,
Te

Saint Edmund Campion Foretells the Warning (1581 A.D.)
St Edmund Campion SJ
Campion Day
St Edmund Campion SJ was martyred on 1st December 1581.
1st December is the day on which his Feast is celebrated in the British Province of the Society of Jesus. St Edmund Campion is regarded as patron of the British Jesuit Province and his feast day is marked in Jesuit communities, parishes and schools. On 1st December we celebrate the ten saints and eighteen beati, martyrs of the British Province.
In the calendar of the English Church, St Edmund Campion is remembered on 4th May along with all the men and women martyred for the Catholic faith in England between 1535 and 1680.
The Life of St Edmund Campion SJ
Edmund Campion was born in 1540, the son of a bookseller in Paternoster row, just behind St Paul's Cathedral in London.
He grew up amid the religious upheavals of the sixteenth century following the break between Henry VIII and Rome.
Campion went to the local grammar school and then, age 12, to the new Christ's Hospital school for orphans and the poor. in August 1553, he was chosen to make a ceremonial address to Queen Mary as she passed through London. Campion was able academically and went to St John's College, Oxford, at the age of 15 (which was not unusual in those days). He was awarded his degree in 1564 and became a Fellow of the University. In 1566, he was again chosen to make a formal speech of welcome before the new Queen, Elizabeth I, when she visited Oxford. Much impressed with Campion, Elizabeth ensured he had friends and patrons at Court.
Campion was ordained a deacon in the Anglican Church.
Increasingly Campion came to believe that the Protestant church was not the true continuation of the Christian faith and that only in the Catholic church would he find a home. He resigned his position at Oxford..
Campion went to Dublin in 1570 and was involved in the establishment of a university there.
With the excommunication of Elizabeth I by Pope Pius V in 1570, everything became much more difficult for Catholics and people like Campion who were unsure of their religious allegiance.
Campion became a Catholic and went to the new seinary for English Catholics founded at Douai in France. He was ordained subdeacon and then walked, barefoot, to Rome to become a Jesuit in April 1573. Campion pursued his studies as a Jesuit and taught in the Jesuit College in Prague. He was ordained priest in 1578.
Campion was pusuaded, against his better judgement, to join the new mission to England. On 16th June 1580, Fr Robert Persons SJ landed at Dover, the Superior of the new mission. On 24th June, Campion followed, disguised as a jewel merchant. Campion moved between the houses of Catholics (the Recusants) who practised their religion in secret. At one such house, Lyford Grange in Oxfordshire, he was betrayed and arrested on 17th July 1581, barely a year after he had set foot in England.
He was imprisoned and tortured in the Tower of London and tried at Westminster Hall in November
The Feast Day of St Edmund Campion is celebrated on 1st December. With him are celebrated his fellow martyr St Alexander Briant SJ, and St Robert Southwell SJ who was martyred on 21st February 1595. All were made saints by Pope Paul VI in 1970 along with 37 others (the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales).
1581. Condemned for treason, he was dragged on a hurdle to Tyburn where he was martyred with Fr Alexander Briant SJ and Fr Ralph Sherwin. He was hanged and then, before he was dead, his genitals cut off, his entrails ripped out and burned before him, his head hacked off and his body quartered.
St. Edmond had at least one vision of Our Lady.
Before he was arrested Campion spoke of a "great day!"
"No other day was in my mind, I protest, than that wherein it should please God to make a restitution of faith and religion. Whereupon, as in every pulpit every Protestant doth, I pronounced a great day, not wherein any temporal potentate should minister, but wherein the terrible Judge should REVEAL ALL MEN'S CONSCIENCES and try every man of each kind of religion. This is the day of change, this is the great day which I threatened." - From 'Edmund Campion a Life' by Evelyn Waugh

On Nov. 9th, 2014, POPE FRANCIS RECOGNIZED MARTHE ROBIN AS VENERABLE (MARCH 13, 1902 - FEBRUARY 6, 1981)
Pope Francis advanced the sainthood causes for Marthe Louise Robin, recognizing her “heroic virtue.”
Recognized as venerable was Marthe Louise Robin. A french laywoman and founder of the Foyers de Charité, Robin was a mystic and reported stigmatist. She died Feb. 6, 1981.
Here is a reposting of her ties with Garabandal:
The sixth child of a family of simple farmers of the Drome (France), Marthe, Servant of God (1991), was twenty-three years old when she wrote, in her own handwriting, her complete Consecration as a "victim of Love" . . . Today, her name, like those of Blessed Padre Pio and Blessed Madre Maravillas, shine in the firmament of the Church of God.
At the origin of the Foundation of the Homes of Charity, Marthe was chosen by the Lord to live His Passion "the most completely after My Mother," He revealed to her in 1933 . . . He even added, "no one in the Church will ever have lived IT as completely as you will!"
Paralyzed since the age of twenty-seven, and also stigmatized, Marthe Robin would spend some fifty years of her life without sleep or food, nourishing herself uniquely with the Eucharistic Bread.
When Fr. Laffineur, O.P. died in November 1970, he had left behind him his plan for the diffusion of the Message of Garabandal in a difficult situation. His close collaborator Fr. Combe decided to ask Marthe, whom he knew well, for her advice. The famous woman mystic welcomed him in the first months of 1971, in her house of La Plaine . . . Here is the account of her meeting as reported by Fr. Combe himself:
". . . Myself: "Dear Sister Marthe, as you know, I care aboutGarabandal . . ."
Marthe: "Yes, Father . . ."
Myself: "I was helping Fr. Laffineur . . . He died last November. And all that has followed . . ."
Marthe: "Yes, the critics . . ."
Myself: "I see that you know. So I come to ask for your advice. To me, the situation appears to be so difficult that from now on I would like to take care of only my parish of Chazay d'Azergues. I have already enough work in this ministry . . ."
Marthe: (in a firm and almost cutting voice): "That's it, Father . . . You want to let everything go! . . ."
Myself (I received the blow right through the heart and waited for the rest . . .)
Marthe: "Aye! What must we do, Father, when we have received graces?"
Myself: "I understand, Sister Marthe . . . I must then take up again the spreading of the Message of Garabandal? But, by doing so, I will receive blows from all sides, from the 'critics,' from the
priests, the vicar-generals, and even blows from the shepherd's crook of Bishops . . ."
Marthe: "Ah well! You will offer them to God. There, father, give me some news of the "children" of Garabandal . . ."
This I did. Marthe listened, sometimes asking for details . . . Finally:
Marthe: "Tell the four girls that I pray for them every day!"
The limited time allotted to me for our interview was drawing to an end. Then Marthe asked me: "Would you like us to say an Our Father and a Hail Mary together?" - "Yes, Marthe. For the girls of Garabandal and their Bishop, for yourself and for the Houses of Charity and also for the blows dealt to us with a stick! . . ."
After our prayer, I said: "Marthe, would you accept to have my Guardian Angel invite yours every day to take part in my Mass!" - "Oh! Yes, Father; they will pray together." And our conversation ended as usual with my blessing given with deep emotion.
My heart was freed and determined; I came down from Marthe's room to the chapel of the Home of Charity. On my knees before the Lord Jesus, I gave thanks for the light received. Then, turning to the Blessed Virgin, I said to her: "Most Blessed Virgin, I understand very well . . . You want this . . . I will therefore take up again my pilgrim's staff . . . I am ready to walk for you to the end of the world" . . .
Later, I saw Marthe Robin again. Every time, we spoke of Garabandal. She was interested in making known the Message; she loved to receive news from me about the four children, about their families and . . . especially about the Bishop of Santander . . .
Another of Marthe Robin's testimonies on Garabandal is the one she gave to Msgr. J. Bretault (Founder and first Bishop of the Diocese of Koudougou). One day, I took him to Chateauneuf-de-Galaure, which he liked so much. Before dropping him off, I asked him to remember me to Marthe and to ask her for a little word for me. The little word was a long report he wrote out immediately with tears of joy before the Blessed Sacrament . . . Msgr. J. Bretault had been overwhelmed by all the information Marthe knew about the difficulties in spreading the news about Garabandal in France after the death of Fr. Laffineur. She asked him to transmit a few details and some advice . . . that were very useful and effective for me."

Another great Saint involved with Garabandal, Marthe Robin's cause for beatification was introduced in Rome in 1984.
There's some powerful stuff in this interview, especially for those of us who have received "blows" from certain church officials and "holier than thou" lay people who refuse to believe in Our Lady of Garabandal and the Messages . . . But as you can see, Marthe and many Saints have believed and with God's grace I will continue to do so too! Just the other day, a mystic friend told me to "wait - pray - listen." So I continue to spread the story of Garabandal with the grace of God! Yes, it is a grace to believe! How about you? Have you received that grace?
What will it take to make you believe, a Miracle? Well, one is coming soon, so hang on to your hat!!! I'm not the only one saying this, either. Many of today's mystics are saying the same thing. We are on the verge of a Divine intervention and the beginning of a new era for mankind!

But, by doing so, I will receive blows from all sides, from the 'critics,' from the
priests, the vicar-generals, and even blows from the shepherd's crook of Bishops . . ."

Garabandal Warning, Our Ladys messages and prophecies - full video
First, a World-Wide Warning that will happen in the sky...like the collision of two stars that do not fall down... it will frighten all humanity regardless of where one happens to be at the time... it will be a thousand times worse than earthquakes... like a fire that will not burn our flesh ... it will last a very short time, although to us it will seem to be a very long time ... no one can prevent it from happening ... It will be recognized as coming from God... it will resemble a punishment ... it is meant to be a purification ... like the revelation of our sins and what we will feel in our hearts will be worse than sorrow. It will not kill us, if we die it will be caused by the emotion within us. The date was not revealed only that it will happen before the announcement of the miracle.
This is only an abbreviated version of the prophecy. To view the entire account of the events of Garabandal see the Garabandal Story.
