Question:
I read that St. Pio said that the great Miracle at Garabandal would be paid for by the blood of Europe. Have you heard this anywhere as I was wondering if it was true.

I have asked Barry Hanratty, Author of the Garabandal Journal, for information about your request. His comments are as follows:


In our November-December 2003 edition, we had this statement which was excerpted from the German book, Garabandal - Der Zeigefinger Gottes, by Albrecht Weber. Here is the English translation:


Conchita mentioned that Padre Pio, during her visit with him, said to her: "The great wonder of God (Miracle) must be paid for with much blood throughout Europe."


I asked Albrecht for confirmation of this information and he told me that Conchita said it in the presence of himself, Eloise Deguia and his mother, who wrote down Conchita's words as she spoke them.
